You can take a ferry from Docklands to Geelong (1 h 30 min). Alternatively, you can take a ferry from Docklands to nearby Portarlington (1 h 10 min).

Melbourne to Geelong by Train
Regular train services depart from Southern Cross Station throughout the day heading to Geelong. It is within the Myki area and if you don’t have a Myki card you can buy a paper ticket. The Myki adult fare is $13.60.
